NASA to announce proof of life on Mars? (Fox News)
NASA is expected to announce Thursday that they have proof of life on Mars. The proof in this case is the discovery of large methane clouds in the atmosphere that could only have been emitted by living organisms (most likely of the subterranean microbial variety). As an aside, the methane might have otherwise been produced by volcanic activity, but there are no known volcanoes on Mars.
You can catch the announcement at 7 pm EST on NASA TV.
Per Fox News (excerpt)…
The scientists suspect alien microbes may be alive and kicking just below the soil of the big planet, after large quantities of what may be the organisms’ waste products were detected. The organisms — called methanogens — are suspected to have been living in water beneath underground ice, where they are disgorging tons and tons of methane.
