I agree that the Special Olympics comment was moronic–and I think we’re seeing too much of Obama on television even without him appearing on a prime time entertainment program.
Having said that, however, why do you think the Rasmussen numbers (or any poll numbers at this point) are important?

I don’t think they are particularly important, but Rasmussen has been consistent in terms of trend and, in my opinion only, the Rasmussen Poll does seem to accurately reflect public sentiment regarding the Obama administration.
I have noticed in the press and among people with whom I have spoken a steady decline of support for this administration. There have been regular complaints about its lack of focus, its lack of transparency, and its lack of maturity and gravitas .
Additionally, there is the growing popularity of the acronym TOTUS to rather painfully describe how poor are our new President’s actual unaided communication skills.
