What’s wrong with Obama? (a revisit to the Obama Punch Drunk Video)
Watching the coverage of Obama at the G20 this weekend reminded me of his history of inappropriate giggles and flippancy when confronted with the economic struggles of our country (and the mountain of debt bedeviling the world).
One might expect the leader of the world’s greatest superpower to focus on ways to get our economic engine reignited and revved up again (and at the G20, one might even hope he would draw our fellow member nations into the process)…but the issue weighing most heavily on Obama’s mind was “there are lots of good golf courses up here, right?”
There is something wrong with Obama! His staff knows it (how can they not), and I hope they are merely protecting us by hiding the truth.
He doesn’t offer the wisdom of leadership. He doesn’t tell us that our struggles will make us strong. He doesn’t point to a courageous course of action and call to us, saying “this way folks…follow me and we will survive.”
To the contrary, he seems genuinely incapable of grasping who this nation is. He thinks that our citizens’ troubles are a laughing matter.
This old video is a perfect illustration of this Obama tic. When Steve Kroft mentions to Obama that only a small minority (18%) of Americans favor the auto bailout, Obama does not offer a logical explanation of why it is the right thing to do…instead he simply emits a barrage of nervous giggles.
How strange!
Kroft wonders aloud if Obama isn’t “punch drunk”…and even asks him about it.
