Iowa Straw Poll results are in! Michele Bachmann wins!

Michele Bachmann with 4,823 votes
Ron Paul with approximately 4,671 votes
Tim Pawlenty with 2,293 votes
Rick Santorum with 1,653 votes
Herman Cain with 1,456 votes
Rick Perry had 712 write-in votes
Mitt Romney with 567 votes
Newt Gingrich with 385 votes
Jon Huntsman had 69 votes.
Thad McCotter had 35 votes.
Congrats to Michele Bachmann…and shocking that Rick Perry racked up 712 write-in votes, but Sarah Palin had none.

Hey Obama: ‘Apologize for what you have done to the country!’ (video)
And when the liberals scream for more taxes, remind them that what they need are more tax revenues…not tax rate increases. It isn’t about fairness as Obama believes…it’s about good business. But of course, he knows nothing about that.
The way to increase tax revenues is by encouraging and nurturing the economy, not punishing it with higher tax rates.

S&P downgrades U.S. Treasuries
If the U.S. were a publicly held corporation, there would be screams for the dismissal of management. But our current management will simply blame someone else (perhaps Sarah Palin or those crafty Tea Party Terrorists caused it).
On Monday (and before), this will ripple across the global markets and will ultimate find its way down to the ordinary citizens of the U.S. who, already in difficult financial straits, will find their sky just a little bit grayer.

Geert Wilders acquitted on all counts!
One big win for free speech in the Netherlands (and Geert) and one huge loss for Islam and its tactics of intimidation. From the NYTimes this morning (excerpt)…
PARIS — Geert Wilders, the fiery right-wing Dutch politician, was acquitted on Thursday of hate speech charges by an Amsterdam court, which found that his inflammatory comments were protected by rules governing discourse in a free society.
“It’s not only an acquittal for me,” The Associated Press quoted Mr. Wilders as telling his supporters, “but a victory for freedom of expression in the Netherlands. Fortunately, you’re allowed to discuss Islam in public debate and you’re not muzzled in public debate. An enormous burden has fallen from my shoulders.”
