According to CNN (report at 8:56 AM), Obama has today released his long form birth certificate.

We will update as this story develops.

Update at 4:09 PM: According to Fox News…

More than a month before Donald Trump began his media blitzkrieg over the issue of President Obama’s birth certificate, the document was quietly moved to a more secure location within a dual combination-key lock safe inside the state’s health department vault.

The certificate was moved there by Alvin Onaka, Hawaii’s State Registrar, in response to what had already become an increasing number of media requests by FoxNews.com and others, according to sources.

This is odd. Why move the certificate to a secure location (thereby hiding it) if it contains only the information released today. There is absolutely nothing divulged today that would fan the fires of curiosity.

Update at 6:43 AM Thursday morning: A scan of the net provides one with a host of articles claiming the document released by the White House is a forgery and then there are a few debunking rather nicely each forgery claim made. Bottom line, we’ll have to wait for the experts to weigh in before drawing any conclusions. In the meantime, here’s a LINK to a video at YouTube that covers most of the forgery claims. The rebuttal to the main point of the video (that the pdf consists of multiple ‘layers’ that leave an impression of document construction or tampering) is that Adobe (which was used to create the pdf released by the White House) has an Optical Character Recognition feature that, if not disabled or turned off, separates a scanned image into multiple layers in an effort to mechanically improve the clarity of a document.

[Note: When reading the following, keep in mind that it has not yet been confirmed by any other source and, particularly considering that it seems odd that Fabrizio would decline by email instead of a phone call, it would be wise to withhold judgment until confirmation is in hand.]

Though we have no knowledge that Trump actually made an offer to Tony Fabrizio to serve as his campaign manage should he run, Fabrizio has taken preemptive action and has declined and asked that his name be withdrawn from consideration. This detail was reported by The Daily Caller upon their obtaining an email from Fabrizio to Trump.

By the way, it has been rumored that Trump and Fabrizio have been chatting about this matter for some time now.

It was a surprise, and when my secretary told me, I put on a helmet and a flak jacket as I answered the phone. I expected a tirade, which he had every right to do given what I have been saying about him. In fact, he was courteous–very calm–and he made his case, rather than sort of attacking everything I said about him…

Obama, by his very nature, is a destructive force when it comes to the free market.

Obama loves large corporations because they are easy to unionize…and they are easily enticed by his offers of crony capitalism.

But he hates small businesses and they are on the cutting edge of job creation and new business innovation. He hates small businesses because they exist in a world in which excellence is the final judge (and, as a socialist, he believes that excellence discriminates against slackers like himself).

No matter how much he may speak of jobs, he is destroying the foundation on which jobs must be built. When Obama says jobs, he means government jobs, green jobs, union jobs. He doesn’t mean jobs which are the result of a vibrant and growing free market.

In Obama’s mind, free market jobs are controlled by rich, greedy people who fight to achieve excellence in products and services and fight for high productivity in manufacturing. Excellence is diametrically opposed to socialism and vice versa. Excellence is all about individual performance and that is the enemy of the collective, the group, and the state.

Barack “Take a Gun to a Knife Fight” Obama has no intention of encouraging the Left to tone down its violent and emotional rhetoric. His call for civility was nothing more than a backhanded regurgitation of accusations already made against Sarah and Conservatives.

“Keep it civil” translates as “you conservatives are responsible for this violence…as a tacit confession of your guilt, you should STFU.”

Marco Rubio is the anti-Obama, the antidote to the socialism and hatred of country and disdain for Americans embodied by Obama.  Rubio brings the refreshing humility needed to leaven the unwarranted arrogance of Obama.

Here is Rubio’s acceptance speech.  He reminds Americans (without teleprompter) what is so wonderful about freedom and free enterprise…and he reminds us of all that Obama has tried so relentlessly to destroy.

There is still hope for America!  In this speech and by his victory, Rubio revives the REAL American dream…

They don’t just hate our Republican, conservative, libertarian, strict constructionist, family values guts. They hate everybody’s guts. And they hate everybody who has any. Democrats hate men, women, blacks, whites, Hispanics, gays, straights, the rich, the poor, and the middle class.

Democrats hate Democrats most of all. Witness the policies that Democrats have inflicted on their core constituencies, resulting in vile schools, lawless slums, economic stagnation, and social immobility. Democrats will do anything to make sure that Democratic voters stay helpless and hopeless enough to vote for Democrats.

Democrats hate America being a world power because world power gives power to the nation instead of to Democrats.

And Democrats hate the military, of course. Soldiers set a bad example. Here are men and women who possess what, if they chose, could be complete control over power. Yet they treat power with honor and respect. Members of the armed forces fight not to seize power for themselves but to ensure that power can bestow its favors upon all Americans.

This is not an election on November 2. This is a restraining order. Power has been trapped, abused and exploited by Democrats. Go to the ballot box and put an end to this abusive relationship. And let’s not hear any nonsense about letting the Democrats off if they promise to get counseling.

Obama doesn’t know the difference between a paycheck and a productive job.

Real jobs—productive jobs—create wealth. They provide products and services which have greater value than the costs to produce them.

Government jobs and make-work jobs cannot do this…and accordingly they do not expand the economy.

Obama hates the wealthy (except for the crooked wealthy like Soros) and by extension hates wealth creation and wealth creating (read productive) jobs.

You can’t have it both ways. If you hate the wealthy, you hate job creation. They go hand in hand!

By the way, this concept–that wealth creating, productive jobs expand the economy–is why tax RATE cuts work. They send the greatest amount of money back to those people and small businesses creating the greatest wealth and that results in the creation of even more wealth creating (read productive) jobs.

And look at the difference between the money put to work via tax RATE cuts versus government stimulus payouts…

When the government makes a stimulus payment, the government is required to sooner or later collect those dollars from the economy. For every dollar taken out of the economy, only a small percentage gets sent back into the economy. Some have estimated that it costs the economy $2 for every $1 in revenue collected by the U.S. Treasury. And that is just the beginning of how government waste takes a bite out of what is eventually returned to the economy as “stimulus.”

On the other hand, using tax rate cuts as a means of creating jobs not only injects capital into the economy right where it can create the most wealth and thereby expand the economy the fastest and create the most jobs…each tax rate cut dollar returns to the economy IN FULL (not having been subjected to IRS collection costs or general government waste).

The excerpt below is from an article in today’s Wall Street Journal. It is the best discussion I have encountered to date on what is driving the tea party movement (by Jonathan Haidt, Wall Street Journal)…

To see the full spectrum of tea party morality in a single case, consider (or better still, Google) a transcript on Glenn Beck’s website titled “Best caller ever?,” which relates one man’s moment of enlightenment. The exchange, which aired live in late September, starts with karmic outrage. A father in Indiana, proud of his daughter’s work ethic and high grades, learned that she would have to retake a social studies test because most of the students—who, he says, run around after school instead of studying—had failed it. The teacher confirmed that yes, the whole class would have to take the test several more times because “we have to wait for the other children to catch up.” The father asked if his daughter could work on new material while the other kids retook the test. The teacher said no, it would “make the other children in the class feel not as equal.” That was the last straw. At that moment, the father says, he rejected “the system” and decided to home-school his daughter.
