Hamas rocket lands in Ashdod kindergarten schoolyard Monday morning

This is why no cease fire will work until Hamas is eliminated from Gaza (excerpts from Arutz Sheva)…

A long-range Grad-type Katyusha rocket landed in the schoolyard of a kindergarten in a northern Ashdod neighborhood at approximately 3:20 Monday afternoon — but miraculously, only two people were lightly wounded, one by flying shrapnel. Thirty children are normally in the classroom during the day, when the missile struck, but due to Home Front Command instructions, the building was empty at the time.

Magen David Adom medics who raced to the scene said they treated a number of people who suffered from severe emotional trauma. Eyewitnesses described the explosion as “unusually loud.”

Hamas and allied terrorist attacked southern Israel with close to 30 rockets since 7:00 a.m. Monday, appearing to focus primarily on the coastal cities of Ashkelon and Ashdod.

The Israeli-Hamas conflict: Obama’s first test of mettle

Five months ago, when he was visited Sderot, Obama didn’t mince worlds…

If somebody was sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I would do everything to stop that, and would expect Israel to do the same thing.

However, since the recent commencement of Israel’s counter attack on Hamas, Obama has deferred to President Bush. Soon (I presume) we will see if he stands with Israel in her defense of herself…or if he will join the chorus of those who always blame Israel.

Obama to Israel: Withdraw to 1967 borders to have peace with Muslim world!

It didn’t take Obama long to show where he stands with regard to Israel.

He has a great plan. Israel should just capitulate to Muslim demands…and, for its part, the Muslim world will agree not to destroy Israel. Why didn’t someone think of this before? Now all we need is a seven year treaty which includes the rebuilding of the Temple.

Hamas says it’s already talking to Obama (Israel Today)

UPDATE: Story now picked up by WND’s Aaron Klein, Hamas: We met Obama advisers

Per Israel Today (excerpt)…

In an interview with London-based pan-Arab newspaper Al-Hayat, Hamas spokesman Ahmad Yousef said that Obama’s advisors traveled to the Gaza Strip to meet with the group’s leadership months ago when he was still campaigning for the presidency.

Said Yousef: “We first made contact on the Internet and then met with some of them here in the Gaza Strip. They advised us not to reveal this information lest it influence the elections or become manipulated by [Republican candidate John] McCain’s campaign.”
