Obama’s moral relativism traced to its postmodern roots!

There are two articles published today that caught my attention regarding Obama’s moral/religious beliefs.

One is Cathleen Falsani’s attempt in today’s Chicago Sun Times to set the record straight about the impression left by her original religious interview with Obama in which he declares that, though he is a Christian, his is the sort of Christianity that believes there are many ways to the Father.

Of course, this is a free country and a person is free to define Christianity however he/she likes…but that isn’t the definition provided by the Gospel of Jesus (Yeshua). Yeshua said “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me” (John 14:6).

This Scriptural admonition (held by many to be the “heart” of the entire New Testament) is in direct opposition to the faith of Obama and his pal Oprah wherein there are many ways to God.

That said, this is not a judgment of Obama…just a clarification of definitions. He and Oprah are certainly free to preach whatever Gospel they like. But I hope they don’t mind if some of us try to clarify their meaning and its inconsistency with the actually Word of Yeshua.

Yet, what about “moral relativism”?

In Cathleen Falsani’s original article and in an article today by Jonah Goldberg in USA Today, we are reminded that Obama defines sin as that which is “out of alignment with my values.”

“MY VALUES?”

Hello?

Here’s what Jonah has to say…

Statements such as this have caused many people to wonder whether Obama has a God complex or is hopelessly arrogant. For the record, sin isn’t being out of alignment with your own values (if it were, Hannibal Lecter wouldn’t be a sinner because his values hold that it’s OK to eat people) nor is it being out of alignment with Obama’s — unless he really is our Savior.

There is, however, a third possibility. Obama is a postmodernist.

Continue reading Jonah’s article…he does a good job of explaining Obama’s moral relativism and traces it to its roots in “postmodern thought.”

“Messiah In Our Midst” (Jonah Goldberg NRO)

This messianic talk ought to be funny, but no one is laughing.

Whenever I read articles like the one Jonah Goldberg just wrote (in NRO) that sifts through the downright apocalyptic language used by some of Obama’s glassy-eyed fanbois, I get a Chris Matthews tingle too. But not the kind that runs up my leg…the tingles I get are in the pit of my stomach.

Well, enough about my stomach, here’s an excerpt of the article and a link…

(excerpt from “Messiah In Our Midst”)

Obama’s apostles are hard to dismiss. Oprah simply calls him “The One,” because “we need politicians who know how to be the truth.” (Jesus says in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth …”) Oprah goes on to say Obama will help us “evolve to a higher plane,” which would put Obama in the role of our Intelligent Designer.

According to the New York Times, Obama’s volunteers are taught to eschew discussions of the issues and instead “testify” about how they “came to Obama.”

For many, he’s no retro-redeemer, but a 21st-century savior, a Matrix-messiah and Neo for our modern-day Nineveh. Self-help guru Deepak Chopra dubs Obama “a quantum leap in American consciousness,” while prominent “leadership coach” Eve Konstantine assures us that, “He’s our product out of the all-knowing quantum field of intelligence.”

Obama willing, I will never be stuck next to these people on a plane.

Michelle Obama is arguably Obamanity’s greatest evangelist, even though she has a streak of Old Testament smiting and wrath to her. She insists her husband has redeemed the entire nation (hence her newfound pride in America). She proclaims her husband is the sort of leader who will fix our broken souls. But don’t hope for grace on the cheap. “The change Barack is talking about is hard,” she insists, “so don’t get too excited, because Barack is going to demand that you, too, be different.”
