“Joe the Plumber,” the small business aspirant and overnight media sensation, endorsed John McCain’s presidential campaign Tuesday and said Barack Obama would make America a socialist nation.
The Ohio plumber, whose real name is Samuel Wurzelbacher, also agreed with a McCain supporter who asked him if he believed “a vote for Obama is a vote for the death of Israel.”
“I’ll go ahead and agree with you on that,” Wurzelbacher told the man, retired Florida lawyer Stan Chapman who was visiting Ohio.

Bill Kristol to McCain: “Fire the Campaign” (NYT)
This might just be the last best chance for the McCain-Palin Campaign (NYTimes)…
What McCain needs to do is junk the whole thing and start over. Shut down the rapid responses, end the frantic e-mails, bench the spinning surrogates, stop putting up new TV and Internet ads every minute. In fact, pull all the ads — they’re doing no good anyway. Use that money for televised town halls and half-hour addresses in prime time.
And let McCain go back to what he’s been good at in the past — running as a cheerful, open and accessible candidate. Palin should follow suit. The two of them are attractive and competent politicians. They’re happy warriors and good campaigners. Set them free.

“McCain booed after trying to calm anti-Obama crowd” (AP)
There is tremendous anger among conservatives. Much of it is directed at Obama…but there is an increasing frustration with McCain for his failure to focus that anger into the battle against Obama.
At present, McCain is not leading his troops. It seems as though he doesn’t see what many conservatives see–that Obama is indeed a dangerous man!

Sarah Palin: “The gloves come off” (video embed of rally)
The Orange County rally pulled in 15,000 and Sarah was introduced by the President of the LA Chapter of NOW, a former Clinton supporter. From all accounts, Sarah was a hit (Source).
Gov. Sarah Palin the pit bull showed up at the Home Depot Center in Carson on Saturday, taking shots at Sen. Barack Obama on taxes and on his association with a former member of the Weather Underground.

“From the minute John McCain suspended his campaign and arrived in Washington to address this crisis, he was attacked by the Democratic leadership: Senators Obama and Reid, Speaker Pelosi and others.
