Obama’s New Amerikan Plantation

The one thing the Obama election has exposed is that some, perhaps many, blacks are still on the plantation (and they have been joined by their liberal friends from all races of man). Even though the plantation has been burned to the ground and they have been given their freedom, they refuse to leave the illusion of safety provided by their imprisonment.

The original owners of the plantation have long been replaced by the government, but those who still scream about their victimization are now willing victims of government control, afraid to leave the devil they know for the one they don’t.

And, of course, this condition isn’t improved by leaders like Jackson, Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright, et al who profit from the continued slavery of men, women, and children.

Indeed, the very charge of racism is a cover for perpetuation of the irrational fear of victimization and self-pity. Its reduction or demise would require those who cling to it to give it up…and that demands a leap of faith from the whining immaturity of eternal slavery to the brave self-sufficiency enjoyed by free men.

Those people who hold tight to “racism” have to step off the plantation and take their place in the free world. They must leave the Government Zoo and enter the wild and woolly jungle of the free market and free society.   BTW, that is why racists have so much venom for those who have left the plantation (i.e. conservatives…especially black conservatives).

All that said, the dilemma our country now faces is a strange one considering that Obama promised liberation and equality to his brothers.  Those who support Obama must realize that what Obama is trying to do IS NOT liberate the black man or the poor man or the immigrant.

Like Jackson, Sharpton and Wright, he is feeding into the fear of those who are self-exiled in slavery. He is saying, “don’t worry, I won’t make you leave the plantation. I know you are afraid of freedom…so instead of making you embrace freedom and all it offers, I’ll just get rid of it. I’ll round up all those who are not afraid of freedom and imprison them with you on the new Government Plantation.”

That is what Socialism is…it is the destruction of freedom so that those who fear it are no longer tempted. Socialism creates a zoo for us to live in. It rids humanity of all the excellence and invention and creativity that free men are capable of…and it replaces it with a vast, inescapable zoo of shared mediocrity and imprisonment.

This is Obama’s vision for Amerika!

Obama Won’t Rule Out Middle Class Tax Hike (video of Stephanopoulos, Alexrod interview)

Stephanopoulos seems genuinely incredulous that Obama would flip on his pledge not to raise taxes on taxpayers earning less than $250K. One wonders if he is beginning to see the truth about Obama.

Republicans Smell Weakness In Obama (The Daily Beast)

There may be hope yet. From today’s Daily Beast, here are a few quotes from an article by John Batchelor…

The public may have liked the president’s big speech, but the GOP isn’t worried. Insiders say they’re raring for a fight, and that they think Obama’s in a very vulnerable position.

“I feel sorry for him sometimes,” confided a senior Republican House member about President Obama. “He invited us over to the White House to explain to us how the stimulus plan is working, and how the budget is going to work, and he spoke to us a couple of times. He doesn’t act like he knows what’s going on with the economy. He’s so afraid of confrontation, when you challenge him, he backs off, like he doesn’t know the right answer.

When he (Obama) protested that his stimulus bill was going to create all these green jobs, he was told back, what’s that do for a machinist in the UAW who just got his job yanked? And the president smiled and laughed sympathetically and said, ‘I was just joking with you.’”

“Inspiration is not what you hear from the president. The one thing that comes across from being in the chamber with him is, that the thing you felt with Clinton, it’s not there, there’s no magic. The Democrats don’t feel it and we sure don’t. The president didn’t earn what he’s got, and no one’s afraid of him… Dictatorial power? Fascist. That’ll be the day. No one’s worried about what he’s going to do. People applaud. What’s it mean? ”

Putin to Obama: “Socialism doesn’t work”

HT: Clarice Feldman

What sort of parallel universe have we slipped into when Putin warns against the dangers of socialism while at the same time our own President gives us the bum’s rush into that very abyss. Here are Putin’s exact words in his speech at the opening ceremony of the World Economic Forum in Davos (excerpt/emphasis added)…

In the 20th century, the Soviet Union made the state’s role absolute. In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody wants to see it repeated.

Nor should we turn a blind eye to the fact that the spirit of free enterprise, including the principle of personal responsibility of businesspeople, investors and shareholders for their decisions, is being eroded in the last few months. There is no reason to believe that we can achieve better results by shifting responsibility onto the state.

And one more point: anti-crisis measures should not escalate into financial populism and a refusal to implement responsible macroeconomic policies. The unjustified swelling of the budgetary deficit and the accumulation of public debts are just as destructive as adventurous stock-jobbing.

Daschle Withdraws Nomination for HHS (FoxNews.com)

Just in–per Fox News (excerpt)…

Tom Daschle has withdrawn his nomination for health and human services secretary, after fielding mounting criticism over his failure to pay more than $130,000 in taxes.

President Obama stood by Daschle Monday, telling reporters that he “absolutely” supports the former South Dakota senator. But the president accepted Daschle’s withdrawal with “sadness and regret” Tuesday morning, according to a White House statement.

Obama: labor unions will save our economy–”a fox in every hen house’

It comes as no surprise that Obama loves the unions but does he honestly believe that empowering the unions will strengthen the economy. This is pure insanity.

The unions have killed Detroit and the domestic auto industry, so Obama wants to give them the rest of the country. Obama’s plan for America…”a fox in every hen house.”

From Forbes today (excerpt/emphasis added)…

Heralding a turn to the left for the United States President Barack Obama on Friday made statements strongly in support of organized labor, the second straight day he advocated positions that could be seen as anti-business.

“I believe we have to reverse many of the policies toward organized labor that we have seen over the past eight years, policies with which I have sharply disagreed,” Obama told a gathering at the White House. “Labor is not part of the problem, it is part of the solution,” he said to loud applause from an audience that included representatives of labor unions and business groups.

Obama’s on-the-job training for the Presidency is going to be painful!

Remember back during the campaign when Obama’s opponents pointed to his lack of experience as a glaring, indeed dangerous, weakness in his resume. Hillary declared over and over again that the White House was no place for on-the-job training. Well, he hasn’t even taken office yet but the cracks in his previously flawless exterior are beginning to become apparent.

Experience managing something–anything–would have been useful (to say the very least) before taking the helm of the world’s only remaining superpower.

Jennifer Rubin lists the O’blunders at Pajamas Media today. Here’s an excerpt…

The Israeli-Hamas conflict: Obama’s first test of mettle

Five months ago, when he was visited Sderot, Obama didn’t mince worlds…

If somebody was sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I would do everything to stop that, and would expect Israel to do the same thing.

However, since the recent commencement of Israel’s counter attack on Hamas, Obama has deferred to President Bush. Soon (I presume) we will see if he stands with Israel in her defense of herself…or if he will join the chorus of those who always blame Israel.
