Here’s another fun diversion for those of us suffering from election burnout. It seems Stephenville Texas and Erath County have had another encounter with their famous “lights.” Lots of witnesses and a video (wobbly, of course).

This event happened 50 years ago but was announced yesterday and reported by FoxNews.com today. Solid evidence that people are getting tired of election news and need a little interesting diversion (excerpt and link).
A former Top Gun said Sunday he was ordered to shoot down a massive UFO over Norwich, England, 50 years ago.
RAF controllers told U.S. pilot Milton Torres to “lock on” and launch all 24 of his rockets over the city.

Not sure which is the bigger story here–that Edgar Mitchell has (again) told his story of alien contact or that it was headlined on Fox News.
As some of you may remember, Mitchell (who for all intents and purposes seems quite believable) told this story as far back as 1994 (and maybe earlier).
But, for what it’s worth, here it is (again)…
Former NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr. Edgar Mitchell — a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission — claims aliens exist.
He says extraterrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions — but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades.
Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview in Birmingham, England, that sources in the federal government who had had contact with aliens described the beings as “little people who look strange to us.”
He said supposedly real-life ET’s were similar to the traditional image of a “small gray” — short, slight frame, large eyes and large head.

I don’t usually post items like this but, with all the excitement caused by the FOIA release of docs by the Ministry of Defence, I thought it might be fun. BTW, I have never seen a UFO and have not formed an opinion as to what such phenomena might be.
This report was included in the information released by the Ministry of Defence under the Freedom of Information Act (UK). Tip o’ the hat to Nick Pope who discovered this report in DEF 31/173 (we sifted through the pdf and found this info starting at page 240).
The reason this report is so interesting is because not only was the sighting witnessed (in April, 1984) by a local resident and her neighbor, but by the local police (when they arrived to take her report, the object was still visible). The police viewed the object with binoculars and then made a drawing of what they saw (pic of drawing is below).
So…we have the civilian report, the police report, an actual drawing made by the police (included below), and a transmittal letter by New Scotland Yard to the Ministry of Defence.
I present the evidence below. Have fun! BTW, a “Section 40″ is where a name has been withheld to protect the person’s privacy.
